Best Time to Visit Ouzoud Waterfalls

Spring (March–May) is the absolute best time — the waterfalls are at full force after winter rains, the surrounding landscape is green and lush, and temperatures are perfect.

Autumn (September–November) is also excellent — fewer tourists and comfortable temperatures.

Summer (June–August) — the falls are still beautiful but the water flow is lower. Compensated by the fact that swimming in the pools feels amazing in the heat.

Winter (December–February) — the falls are powerful and dramatic, but it can be cold. Not ideal for swimming but beautiful for photography.

Can You Swim at Ouzoud Waterfalls?

Yes — swimming in the natural pools at the base of the falls is one of the highlights of the visit. The water is clear, fresh, and cool. Bring a swimsuit and a small towel if you plan to swim.

Note that the current can be strong near the base of the main falls — swim in the designated areas and follow your guide's advice.

The Barbary Monkeys :

Ouzoud is home to a resident population of wild Barbary macaque monkeys who live in the trees around the falls. They're used to visitors and often come quite close — especially near food. Don't feed them directly, but do enjoy watching them swing through the branches above the water.
