At Sahara Horizons, we organize private and small-group balloon flights departing from just outside Marrakech, with everything taken care of from hotel pickup to a traditional Berber breakfast after landing.
Why a Hot Air Balloon Over Marrakech?
Marrakech sits at a unique crossroads — ancient medina, desert plains, and mountain peaks all within view. From the air, the contrast is extraordinary: the red clay rooftops of the city, the green palm oasis, the flat rocky plateau of the Agafay Desert, and the High Atlas Mountains rising in the distance.
There is no better perspective on Morocco than from the sky at sunrise.

Best Time of Year for a Balloon Ride in Marrakech :
The hot air balloon operates year-round, but the best conditions are from October to April when the sky is clearest, temperatures are pleasant, and the Atlas Mountains are often snow-capped — creating a spectacular backdrop.
In summer (June–August), flights still operate but the landscape is drier and temperatures rise quickly after sunrise.
What to Bring :
Comfortable, warm clothing (mornings are cool even in summer)
A light jacket or fleece for the early start
Your camera — sunrise from the balloon is extraordinary
Closed-toe shoes (required for the balloon basket)
A sense of adventure!
